Baltimore Ravens left tackle Ronnie Stanley is an elite offensive lineman, but his position group has had major issues this season.

Thanksgiving is a time for us all to recognize what we are thankful for in life. If you are a member of the Baltimore Ravens or one of their many supporters, solid pass protection is not one of those things.

In an embarrassing 32-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thanksgiving night, the season-long pass pro woes continued, as quarterback Lamar Jackson was sacked three more times. He's now been brought down 26 times this season, three more than his total from all of 2024.

Adding in Tyler "Snoop" Huntley and Cooper Rush, Ravens QBs in total have been sacked 33 times this season. Five and a half of those 33 sacks have come from one individual, and it's the player that Stanley identifies as his, to use a basketball term, toughest guard.

Stanley was asked who the toughest edge rusher to block in the NFL is, and he responded, "Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns."

“Probably #95 of the Browns,” Stanley said in an exclusive with Ratings.org. “I’ve played him twice a year for a while. He’s definitely the most dynamic when it comes to athleticism, speed to power.

"There’s not really a weakness in the different moves he can make or what he can do.”

Stanley made his second Pro Bowl last season (2019 was the other), so he knows what he's talking about. And the numbers indeed prove his point about Garrett, who has recorded a career-high 18 sacks through the first 11 games.

Garrett has been on a tear as of late, registering 14 sacks in the past five games. With six games left to play, he is well on his way towards shattering the NFL single-season sack record of 22.5, which Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt share.

Garrett, the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, already owns all of the Browns franchise records for sacks.

Speaking of Watt, who has seven sacks this season, he's the next assignment for Stanley and the Ravens. Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers come to town a week from Sunday for what will be a game with massive AFC North division title implications.
