Universal has now revealed that Wicked: For Good earned $30.8 million at the domestic box office during its Thursday night previews. This is the best preview night gross for any movie of 2025 so far, by a wide margin. The previous record-holder was the Marvel Cinematic Universe installment The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which debuted in July with $24.4 million in previews.

This is also a huge leap forward for the franchise, as 2024's Wicked only earned $19.2 million during its own Thursday previews.
