Not surprisingly, the Boozer family showed up on Thanksgiving in the United Center to watch Cameron and Cayden compete against Arkansas. You may remember that Carlos played for the Bulls, but it probably didn’t occur to most of you (like it didn’t to us), that Cameron and Cayden had spent time in the United Center as children. For them, it was something of a homecoming.
And Cameron did something kind of crazy against Arkansas.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementYou know how people love to find statistical high points? They’ll say stuff like “John Jablonski has 12 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and he milked a cow at halftime! No one has done that since James Naismith’s first season at Kansas!”
Most of those things are kind of silly, because-we-can stat stunts.
Not this one. Check this out:
According to The Sporting News, Boozer has done something that no one, whether in the NCAA or the NBA, has done in 30 years:
175-plus points
75-plus rebounds
25-plus assists
10 or fewer turnovers
undefeated record
That takes in a lot of brilliant players. And before you say, yeah…that’s just another stat stunt…not exactly. First of all, it’s sustained. It’s not something he did in just one good game.

Everyone.
It’s just an amazing snapshot of greatness rising. What a privilege to watch this guy play. And it should be noted that in playing the game the way it should be played, he’s honoring it.
