The action thriller premiered on March 23, 2023, and was renewed for a second run within a week. Before Season 2's arrival on January 23, 2025, a third season was announced in October 2024, which still has no premiere date. In the meantime, there have been talks of The Night Agent getting a Season 4, and we now have more details with an interesting change ahead.
New reports suggest that the writer's room for The Night Agent Season 4 has been active for some time, with the series already being lined up for yet another early renewal. On November 20, 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Film Commission confirmed that a fourth installment is not only in development but is also planning a big production move. Since Season 2, the drama series has predominantly been filmed in New York and Washington, D.C., as well as in international locations. Some of those international locations include Thailand for Season 2 and Turkey, Mexico, and even the Dominican Republic for Season 3.
'The Night Agent' Is Making A Major Move for Season 4
As confirmed by the approved TV projects list, The Night Agent Season 4 is part of the "Relocating TV series" list from Sony Pictures Television and is scheduled to film for 90 days in California. The list also shows that the season has "a total of 178 cast members, 334 base crew members, and 3,350 background performer days worked with a total qualifying expenditure of about $80 million." Looking at the number of production days and prior production schedules, it's possible that California won't be the only filming location for Season 4.
While we await a premiere date for The Night Agent's fourth season, Season 3 is expected to feature a couple of new faces. Some of them include Genesis Rodriguez, David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, and Stephen Moyer. At the same time, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ward Horton, and Albert Jones have been upped to series regulars, while it remains uncertain if Luciane Buchanan will return as Rose Larkin in the third season.
The Night Agent returns with Season 3 soon. Stay tuned to Collider for the latest news.
