Simmons suffered a wrist injury that knocked him out of the game. Simmons was almost immediately ruled out, which is also a bad sign.

Following the game, it was reported that Simmons was spotted in the locker room with a cast on his left wrist, and his arm was in a sling.

"Chiefs LT Josh Simmons has a cast on his left wrist, and his arm is in a sling," The Kansas City Star's Pete Sweeney reported.

Given those facts, it's a strong indication that Simmons might have a long-term issue.

Adding to the Chiefs' concerns upfront, right tackle Jawaan Taylor suffered an elbow injury that forced his early exit, and Kansas City was already without guard Trey Smith, who didn't play in Week 13 due to high- and low-ankle sprains.

The good news for the Chiefs is they have a solid backup tackle in Jaylon Moore, but losing both tackles would force Kansas City to rely on Wanya Morris, who is no great shakes.

We'll likely get a report on both players' statuses soon, but if not the next update for both players will come on Wednesday, when the Chiefs release their first Week 14 injury report.
