The Bears (8-3) are getting healthier, and just ahead of Friday's critical matchup, they got two key defenders back into the lineup. Chicago announced on Thursday that the club has activated defensive back Jaylon Johnson and defensive back Kyler Gordon from Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return. In corresponding moves, the Bears placed offensive lineman Luke Newman on Reserve/Injured and waived running back Brittain Brown.
Chicago has also elevated linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin and offensive lineman Jordan McFadden from the practice squad for Friday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Per NFL regulation, all standard elevations revert to the practice squad following the game.
Johnson, a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback, has appeared in only one game this season after battling a groin injury that ultimately led to abductor surgery. Gordon, a versatile nickelback, has dealt with calf and groin injuries and has only appeared in two games this year.
