Week 13 in the Big Ten will produce one of the biggest matchups of the season. Penn State and Illinois did not live up to the preseason hype. USC and Oregon, two former Pac-12 rivals, will give the Big Ten a showcase game. Just like the typical Pac-12 games we used to watch, this will be a high-scoring matchup, and the more explosive offense will win.
Here are my Week 13 bold predictions for the huge clash between USC football and rival Oregon:

Quarterback Dante Moore has a run game that at times leads the show in the majority of games this season. Dante Moore gets his time to shine, no doubt, but in this matchup, his play style is less aggressive. At times, it even feels as if Oregon is limiting what it allows Moore to do as a passer. Jayden Maiava, on the other hand, is a gun slinger. Each game he gets an opportunity to pass for 300 yards if he wants to. With the playmakers he has, he is not afraid to consistently attack any defense. In this matchup, for the Trojans to win, they need to make this game a race to the finish line and force the Ducks to abandon the run. They can do that by attacking the air a lot early and often. I think Maiava will throw for 300 yards, and for his team to win, he will need to play the game of his life. I think there is a chance he does that. With more opportunity to play loose and throw as much as possible, Maiava will have the better quarterback performance.
Makai Lemon will be the best player on the field once again
Makai Lemon proved he is the best, if not the number-two receiver, in the country. Iowa simply had no answer for him last week. Makai Lemon consistently bailed out Jayden Maiava throughout the entirety of the game, and he made big play after big play. The Trojans do not fear any defense that lines up in front of them. The Ducks have the number 1 pass defense, but they have yet to face a passing attack such as the Trojans. This will be a matchup between good versus good, and I like Makai Lemon to have yet another clutch performance to help secure a win for the Trojans.

The Oregon Ducks are coming into this game with one of the best run games in the country. King Miller has been impressive in his own right. No Waymond Jordan, no Eli Sanders, no problem. In his 5 games as a starter, he has gained 567 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. He is averaging 7.3 yards per carry on the season, and he has added a very special element to this offense. It is clear that this offense is dangerous through the air, but now you have to worry about King Miller running all over you and getting a big gain. King Miller has been on an impressive stretch, and I don't think that stops this week against Oregon. The Ducks have a committee, so their running production will be spread out. I think King Miller is the leading rusher in this game. I can see him eclipsing 100 yards and getting a touchdown, helping the Trojans put up an explosive offensive performance.
Marcelles Williams makes another momentum shifting play
The Trojans have dealt with many ups and downs in their secondary. Most recently, they had to deal with both of their starting safeties going down versus Iowa. The one consistent thing, though, with this defense has been freshman Marcelles Williams making plays. Williams had his breakout game versus Nebraska, where he dominated. Against Iowa, as the Trojans' defense started buckling down, Williams forced a tipped pass that resulted in a big momentum-shifting interception. After the play, Williams made the Trojans take the lead with a tough down and never gave the game back to Iowa. The young corner is playing with confidence and swagger, and I think that bleeds into Saturday's game versus Oregon. Marcelles Williams will make another momentum-shifting play this time, getting his first career interception, picking off Dante Moore in a very crucial moment in this game. What a season this would be for this talented young corner.

Some may view the Trojans being 9.5-point underdogs in this game as the perfect line, but I think it is not a fair assessment of how good this Trojan team is. This game will be very close, and whoever wins this game will end it on their final drive. I think this game will be a high-scoring match, but that plays perfectly in the Trojans' hands. Jayden Maiava will get the ball last, and he will conduct the drive of his career, finishing this game off with a touchdown pass to Makai Lemon. Maiava will cement himself in the class of the elite quarterbacks, with Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore Jr.
