Nov. 24—BUFFALO — On Saturday against Buffalo, the starting five was all the Bemidji High School girls basketball team needed.
The starters recorded all of the points for the Lumberjacks in a 54-51 win over the Bison.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDown by one with 50 seconds left, Clara Bieber made two free throws to give BHS the lead. Alivia Thompson made two more free throws in the dying seconds to cement the victory for the Lumberjacks.
"Really proud of our girls on staying composed and finding a way to win," head coach Darin Schultz said after the game.
Anysia Pink led BHS in scoring with 15 points, followed by Bieber and Thompson with 14 points apiece.
While the Jacks allowed seven Buffalo 3s, the defense locked the Bison down in crunch time enough for the win.
