A huge Xbox Game Pass addition is being bombarded by 1-star reviews on the Microsoft platform, as the title has not been well-received by its players, despite its magnitude and its day-one release status. Microsoft’s subscription service is constantly changing, with new additions and some removals every month. For instance, a few days ago, The Crew Motorfest joined Xbox Game Pass, a few years after its release, bringing with it years of post-release content.

One of the main perks for Ultimate tier members following the service’s remodeling is the ability to play titles that are incorporated as day-one releases into the service, but not every title is well-received by its players. This is the case with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on Xbox Game Pass, which has reached a devastating 1.4/5 score on the Microsoft platform, as shown in a post made by Rjspinell2 on Reddit.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been met with a poor reception from the community following its release in November. The newest entry in the FPS series saw weak scores from the majority of the player base. On Metacritic, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has a 68 Metascore and an underwhelming 1.7 user score, both of which are poor scores for this AAA title.

In Screen Rant’s review of Black Ops 7, we praise the title’s gameplay, as well as its Endgame, Multiplayer, and Zombie modes, but we do criticize its campaign mode, citing that it “never fully clicks.” The series developed by Activision has been struggling in recent years, despite normally being one of each year’s best-selling games.

The arrival of Black Ops 7 on Xbox Game Pass is exciting, as this is a massive AAA day-one release, but the game’s poor quality hasn’t been pleasing subscribers. As seen in the Reddit post, not only is the game’s score poor, but the reviews are extremely critical of its quality. In a comment replying to the original post on Reddit, user SrsBsns36 mentions that they were pleased with the first 15 minutes. “Then machetes started falling from the sky, and the boss was phasing in and out...”

On the game’s official page on Microsoft Store, user wavesolo10 questions if this day-one AAA release is one of the reasons why Xbox Game Pass prices spiked when its tier system was introduced a few weeks ago, calling Black Ops 7 “trash.” This specific day-one release is one of the most recent disappointments with Xbox Game Pass members, as its quality does not reflect the increased price that Ultimate tier members pay for their subscriptions.
