Miami is No. 1 in ACC football power rankings as GT squanders title game

Miami's path to the playoffs might be back in view as Georgia Tech's dream season has quickly turned to a nightmare thanks to some Panthers, and after two spectacular muffed punts, FSU is sticking with head coach Mike Norvell.

The final week of chaos for the ACC has a ton of conference championship game implications, and with that, let's dive into the ACC football power rankings.

1. Miami (9-2)

What to know: Mario Cristobal's cafecito tastes a little better this week as Miami is back in the ACC title game picture, granted it needs some help.

2. Pitt (8-3)

Last week: 4

This week: Miami

What to know: Mason Heintschel's golden arm has turned Pitt into a potential playoff team.

3. Virginia (9-2)

This week: Virginia Tech

What to know: UVA had a week off to watch the ACC madness unfold, and see their rival make a home run coaching hire.

4. Georgia Tech (9-2)

This week: Georgia

What to know: The Yellow Jackets went from penciled into the playoffs to a smudged-out name on brackets.

5. SMU (8-3)

Last week: 5

This week: Cal

What to know: One of the potential ACC title game teams, the Mustangs could go 2-for-2 on conference championship appearances after joining the league.

6. Wake Forest (8-3)

Last week: 8

This week: Duke

What to know: No coach in Wake Forest history has won more in their first year than Jake Dickert.

7. Louisville (7-4)

Last week: 6

This week: Kentucky

What to know: The Cardinals were a few plays away from having to pull fans from the stands to play due to injuries.
