The Las Vegas Raiders were totally embarrassed on Sunday, losing 24-10 to the Cleveland Browns. Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders made his first career start and encountered little resistance from a Raiders team that failed to take advantage of a positive matchup. Despite that, the game was won on defense for Cleveland.

Raiders starting quarterback Geno Smith was sacked on a career-high 10 occasions. Browns superstar edge Myles Garrett finished with three sacks and two forced fumbles, though it was a collective defensive effort. It represented the most sacks the Raiders have allowed this millenium. Offensive coordinator Chip Kelly was relieved of his duties following Sunday's totally inept showing.

It's astounding that the Raiders decided to stick with the Jordan Meredith and Will Putnam combo at right guard and center following their obvious shortcomings against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. When Putnam suffered an injury, he was replaced by Alex Cappa at center. When Meredith momentarily went down, Putnam re-entered the game.

The Browns' 10 sacks were the most in a game by any team over the previous two campaigns, according to ESPN Research. The only team with more in a game over the past five seasons occurred in 2023 by the Seattle Seahawks (11 at the New York Giants). The Raiders just keep getting worse across the offensive line.
