The high school sports season barrels headfirst into Thanksgiving week.
Two area teams remain in the FHSAA football playoffs. Pensacola Catholic will play at Bolles in the Region 1-2A final, while Tate will host Chiles in the 4A-7A FIT state semifinals.

Pensacola Christian’s Jaimee Tutton and Reagan Smith and Gulf Breeze’s Ashton Dahlem brought home individual medals.
Basketball also started this week and eight boys basketball teams will head to Pensacola Catholic for the EscaRosa Thanksgiving Basketball Invitational on Nov. 24-25.
That means plenty of nominations for Week 14 of the PNJ Athlete of the Week Poll, sponsored by Florida Power & Light. As always, we need you to vote on the boys and girls athlete of the week in Pensacola area.
