Michigan State hockey seemingly got themselves a star when they picked up the commitment of Mason West. West, a 6'6", 220 pound forward from Edina (MN) was a first round pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
A unique fact about the Spartan winger prospect is that he is a 3-star rated QB with three FBS offers. He recently showed off his quarterback prowess with Edina High School in Minnesota.

Following the NHL Draft, prior to joining the Fargo Force in the USHL, West made it known that he wanted to play his senior season for his teammates and deliver on their goal of winning a state championship. He did just that.
The Spartans are getting a winner in West.
