An exhausted Anson Mount posts a touching message about how grateful he is to be filming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5. Currently in production in Toronto, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is in the home stretch of filming the fifth and final season's 6 episodes.
Paramount+ announced that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was renewed for a shortened season 5 when season 3 premiered in June. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 wrapped production in summer 2025 and is expected to premiere on Paramount+ sometime in 2026, with season 5 likely to follow in 2027.
Waiting at the airport to fly home at the start of the weekend, a visibly weary Anson Mount (wearing a Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5 winter cap), posted a video about how "thankful" he is to do what he loves.
Mount reminds himself of the adage, “Do you remember when you wanted what you have?", and he assures fans that, “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.” Check out Anson's post below:
Anson Mount has recently begun sharing behind-the-scenes images and posts about filming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' fifth and final season. Below, Mount posts a selfie as the cast and crew prepare to film in the USS Enterprise's ready room.
In this next slideshow of pics, Anson Mount and Martin Quinn, who plays Scotty, strike a funny selfie pose on the Starship Enterprise's bridge. Anson also shares backstage looks at the sound stages and sets of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5's story is top secret. However, executive producers and co-showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers stated that Strange New Worlds' final season will lead into Star Trek: The Original Series, with Captain James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley) taking over the Starship Enterprise from Captain Christopher Pike.
Before that is Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4, which will consist of 10 episodes. Strange New Worlds season 4 will continue season 3's "big swing" high-concept genre episodes, including a story where Captain Pike and the Starship Enterprise crew are turned into puppets.
There's a tinge of sadness surrounding Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as filming of the fifth and final season aims to wrap in December. Still, this means that there are still 2 seasons and 16 episodes of Strange New Worlds fans can look forward to on Paramount+.
Anson Mount is generously bringing the fans along with him as he experiences his final weeks of playing Captain Pike on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Here's hoping Mount's well-earned exhaustion results in the cast and crew finishing strong and delivering an unforgettable fifth and final season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
