Carnegie gestured to fellow sophomore guard Trinity Thomas with a smile as she referenced her "new sisters." Turner posted 18 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Carnegie, who transferred to Athens during the offseason after being named the ACC Sixth Person of the Year and averaging 12.9 points per game for the Yellow Jackets, led the way with a season-high 23 points, four rebounds and two assists.
It was her layup in the second quarter than grabbed Georgia a lead it never relinquished.

"We'll talk later about the game, most likely, because they're still family to me, too, at the end of the day," she said.
Georgia coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said she didn't even need to prepare Carnegie to play her former team. She said really doesn't need to prepare Carnegie for anything, truthfully.
"She's so locked in," Abrahamson-Henderson said. "I haven't met a lot of people like that in terms of coaching for 30 years. Like, she was being face guarded. Some people that would rattle, right? But she was just cool, calm and collected. She was picking and choosing her spots that she could get some shots off. She's pretty amazing."

Abrahamson-Henderson said Carnegie stayed late in the gym yesterday shooting around to prepare for Sunday.
The Lady Bulldogs have been able to share the wealth in terms of scoring with Carnegie's addition to the team, as well as junior guard Rylie Theuerkauf. Together, Carnegie, Turner and Theuerkauf, as well as sophomore forward Mia Woolfolk, all scored in double digits over Georgia Tech.
"I'll play with them any day," Carnegie said. "I know they're buckets for sure. That's why, like when they were face guarding me in the first half, I know I can trust them to go get a bucket for themselves. It's a big difference, having a lot of guards that can create for themselves, and I was trusting the process today."
Georgia travels to Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, Fla., for a tournament with Kansas (5-0) and Butler (2-3) from Nov. 28-29. Tipoff against Kansas is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Butler is 5 p.m. Saturday.
