The New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals battled it out on Sunday in a game that was a nail-biter at the end.
It all came down to a potential game-winning drive by Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco, who was held in check by a tremendous defensive stand by the Patriots late in the fourth quarter. The Patriots came into the game as strong favorites to beat the Bengals and left with a razor-thin 26-20 victory on the road.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt wasn't quarterback Drake Maye's best performance. He missed some throws early and even threw a pick-six in the second quarter. However, he turned things around and finally started settling into a rhythm as the game went on. He finished 22-of-35 passing for 294 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Perhaps the biggest talking point after the game will be the injuries to starting left tackle Will Campbell and left guard Jared Wilson. Both were carted to the locker room after going down with injuries in the game. That left the Patriots down to backups Vederian Lowe and Ben Brown filling in on the left side of the line.
