ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Greetings from the press box at AT&T Stadium, where the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East clash on Sunday.
The Eagles (8-2) are looking to all but wrap up the division and continue their pursuit of the NFC’s No. 1 seed. The Cowboys (4-5-1), meanwhile, are trying to make a playoff push.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Eagles, as expected, will be without All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson, who suffered a foot injury last week that could keep him out until the postseason. Fred Johnson will make his first of many important starts this season.
QB Sam Howell, RB A.J. Dillon, CB Mac McWilliams and DT Ty Robinson are also inactives for the Birds.
Follow along all day for updates from AT&T Stadium.
FIRST QUARTER
00:57 — Eagles 14, Cowboys 0
The Birds are cooking. A Jalen Hurts draw gave the Eagles an early two-touchdown lead, capping a 12-play, 76-yard drive. A.J. Brown has been prominently featured, with five catches for 67 yards. Hurts has completed 9 of 13 passes for 90 yards. The game plan and play-calling has been aggressive, and it’s paying off. Just want Birds fans wanted to see after the Eagles managed only 26 total points the last two weeks.
8:41 — Eagles 7, Cowboys 0
Well, that was quick. After the defense held Dallas on a fourth down at midfield, the offense went to work. Jalen Hurts dropped back to pass on six of seven plays, completing five passes for 47 yards. Three of those completions and 31 of those yards went to A.J. Brown, including a 16-yard score for the frustrated receiver. It was the first time Brown found the end zone since Week 7 vs. the Vikings.
