Texas Football Emmett Mosley V. breaks out against against Hogs

When the Texas Longhorns added Emmett Mosley V. through the transfer portal, they had high expectations. The former Stanford star was expected to become a key piece of the offense and a weapon for Arch Manning. While he has had a quiet start to the season, Mosley has looked better of late and had his best game of the season on Saturday.

Against the Razorbacks' secondary, Mosley hauled in four catches for a season high 81 yards. That was tied with Ryan Wingo for the second-most among Longhorns wide receivers. The only player with more was Parker Livingstone, who had 104 yards on two catches.

As the Chicago native had his best game of the season, he continued to show that his recent hot stretch was no fluke. In the Longhorns' last three games, he has had at least 60 receiving yards. All of those games have come against SEC teams, including two top-ten-ranked programs. Against elite competition, Mosley is setting himself apart.

In his first season as a Longhorn, Mosley has recorded 348 receiving yards on 22 catches. While those numbers are lower than what he did at Stanford, he did miss some time early on. Had he been fully healthy all season, Mosley would have been able to match his numbers from last year.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Mosley could be a bigger factor during the 2026 campaign. He won't be learning a new offense and will have better chemistry with Arch Manning. That could lead to a very productive season full of highlight reel catches. Against the Razorbacks, Mosley showed just how good he can be.

On Friday, Mosley will get to build on his success when the Longhorns take on Texas A&M. For Texas to pull off an upset, they will need Mosley to continue being one of Manning's favorite targets.
