One of the state’s top high school senior quarterbacks has reopened his recruitment.
Carmel’s Anthony Coellner announced Sunday on his social media account that he was no longer committed to Troy, where he had given a verbal commitment in June.

He also ran for 583 yards and 11 TDs to help the Greyhounds to a 9-2 record and No. 2 ranking in Class 6A before losing to Westfield in overtime in the sectional championship.
“Thank you to Troy University, Coach (Gerad) Parker and his amazing staff – especially coach (offensive coordinator Sean) Reagan for believing in me and showing me grace with this difficult decision,” Coellner wrote. “The time, effort and love you all have shown my family and I throughout the recruiting process has been incredible. I wish you all and your program the very best.”
A school to watch for Coellner could be Boston College. He has an official visit lined up for this week.
