Stranger Things 5 Volume 1 is set to release in just a few days (November 26), and the new trailer has just debuted, showing the gang back together and taking the fight to the Upside Down.
At Netflix x CicLAvia: Stranger Things 5 One Last Ride event, the trailer for Volume 1 of season 5 was shown. The event was hosted to bring Stranger Things fans together to bike, skate, or stroll along a car-free journey down Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles to celebrate the final season.
The trailer shows Dustin (played by Gaten Matarazzo), Will (played by Noah Schnapp), Mike (played by Finn Wolfhard), and Lucas (played by Caleb McLaughlin) reunite as they prepare for the final fight against Vecna (played by Jamie Campbell Bower) and all the horrors of the dreaded Upside Down.
Millie Bobby Brown’s character Eleven, alongside David Harbour’s Hopper, appear to be in the Upside Down and headed towards Hawkins Laboratory as they take the fight directly to the source. Sadie Sink’s character, Max, is not shown, but that could be due to the injuries she faced in season 4, leaving her comatose.
Stranger Things won’t fully end with season 5, as the Duffer Brothers announced recently they’d be creating an animated spin-off titled Stranger Things: Tales from '85. The series is due to be released in 2026 and will feature a whole new voice cast for fan favorite characters.

The Duffer Brothers will be transitioning to Paramount as their Netflix deal will reach an end in April 2026. Matt and Ross have plans to create feature-length movies with their production company, Upside Down Pictures. Despite the deal, the Stranger Things creators will be working on the spin-off Tales from '85 and have reported they are currently making headway in an interview with Deadline.
With the dangers faced due to Vecna’s takeover of Hawkins, it’s unclear who will survive and who will perish, and in an interview with Variety, Matt and Ross Duffer said season 5 features "the most violent death yet" from the series so far. There are theories floating around regarding who could face such an unimaginable end, but the cast has been tight-lipped about what fans can expect.
Stranger Things season 5 will begin when Volume 1 is released on November 26 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Netflix, followed by Volume 2 on December 25, and the finale will be released on December 31 on Netflix and in select theaters.
