NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is reporting that Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs is not going to play against the Minnesota Vikings. Previously, Jacobs was listed as questionable on the Packers’ final injury report of the week and had been considered a game-time decision.

According to Pelissero, the Packers “decided to play it cautiously with a short week upcoming.” The team is scheduled to play on Thanksgiving versus the Detroit Lions in Week 13. Pelissero added that Jacobs didn’t even get a pregame workout in.

Without Jacobs, the starting running back should be Emanuel Wilson, who is in line for his first career NFL start. Practice squad running back Pierre Strong Jr. was brought up to be the team’s third back this week and will make his Packers debut after signing with the team in Week 2.

When Jacobs dropped out of last week’s game against the New York Giants with his bone bruise, Wilson outsnapped blocking back Chris Brooks 35-5.
