Kansas City Chiefs defensive line coach Joe Cullen spoke with reporters recently during his press conference, sharing his assessment of George Karlaftis' impact on the defensive line.
"George (Karlaftis), I love him. He plays (with a) relentless motor. He's having a great year. He's physical," said Cullen, "When you add a lot of things up, he does a lot of things really well. He plays the run well. (Defensive Coordinator Steve) Coach Spags asks our ends to be versatile, drop in coverage, he does that well. He's physical at the point of attack in the run game. You look at his hits (and) hurries, he's another one you'd like to get a few more of those hits and hurries to get the quarterback on the ground, but you stack them all up, he's having as good a year as he's had."

Last offseason, the former Purdue standout agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Chiefs, worth up to $93 million. He's contributed mightily to Kansas City's ranking in the top ten in total defense through 11 games.
