Liverpool fell to a shambolic 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday at Anfield.

Igor Jesus, Nicola Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White all scored for Forest, as they condemned the Reds to their sixth defeat in their past seven Premier League fixtures.

Liverpool have dropped down to 11th in the table, with the club now in the midst of a full-blown crisis.

Will the Merseyside titans take a drastic action and sack manager Arne Slot? It is unlikely, given the Dutchman has plenty of credit in the bank after delivering a Premier League title in his debut season.

However, if the poor results continue, it will be impossible for the club’s hierarchy not to sack him.

Below we have listed four names who could replace the 47-year-old, if he is dismissed as manager.

Andoni Iraola

Andoni Iraola is currently doing a superb job at Bournemouth. The Spanish boss came to the club in 2023 and led them to an impressive 12th-place finish in his first season. The Cherries lost their best player Dominic Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur last summer, but they are still cruising in the Premier League under Iraola.

With limited resources, Iraola has done an amazing job at Bournemouth. It is only a matter of time before the 43-year-old is picked up by a bigger club like Liverpool. His high energy, relentless style of football also looks to be suitable to the Reds.

Unai Emery

Unai Emery looked to be on the brink of being sacked by Aston Villa after a horrible start to the season. But the Spaniard has since made a huge turnaround, with the Lions winning five of their last six Premier League games to climb to ninth in the standings.

Liverpool could turn to Emery, as he is a top manager who has the big-club experience, as well as European pedigree. He failed at Arsenal, but has completely transformed Villa since joining the club in 2022.

Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp delivered Liverpool’s first league title in thirty years and is absolutely adored by the fans. The German left Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 season, saying he needed a break after nine years on Merseyside.

Klopp has since accepted a role as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull GmbH, but he could return to Anfield for the short-term. The 58-year-old’s return could galvanise the squad to help make a comeback during the second-half of the campaign.

Oliver Glasner

Oliver Glasner led Crystal Palace to their first major trophy last season when they defeated Manchester City in the Wembley final. The Eagles are also doing well this term, with the South Londoners currently inside the top-four after collecting 20 points from 12 matches.

Glasner won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt and led them to the Champions League knockout stages and DFB-Pokal final. He has also proven himself in the Premier League with Palace,  and could also be a hit at Liverpool.
