Bayern Munich’s comeback against SC Freiburg not to be taken for granted

Bayern Munich’s executive board member for sport Max Eberl was not surprised with SC Freiburg’s intensity in Saturday’s match. The traveling team from Breisgau managed to catch the Bavarians by surprise through two early goals but ultimately were overwhelmed by the home side.

Bayern’s ultimate 6-2 victory had several key takeaways — however, Eberl was most impressed by the way Bayern fought their way back after going down twice and could not contain himself from giving the team a big compliment.

“We know how Freiburg play, they are very solid and cover an incredible amount of ground. We didn’t do well in the first 20 minutes. Freiburg played well and scored two goals from two set pieces. After going down 0-2, we then put pressure on them. A huge compliment to the team; to come back like that after being 0-2 down and win 6-2 is not something to be taken for granted. That gives us even more confidence” remarked Eberl after the match (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
