Sydney Thunder were dismissed for 64 - their lowest score in the Women's Big Bash League and the third lowest in the tournament's history - in an eight-wicket thrashing by defending champions Melbourne Renegades.

Nine of the 11 Thunder batters made single-figure scores as they were all out in 17 overs, with 20 from 24 balls by England batter Heather Knight the best effort.

Australia leg-spinner Georgia Wareham took 3-12 from four overs, England spinner Alice Capsey 2-12 from three and England seamer Issy Wong 1-5 from two.

Capsey finished 24 not out and Sophie Molineux unbeaten on 29 as Renegades eased to their total in 11.1 overs for the loss of two wickets.

They sit second in the table on eight points, two behind Hobart Hurricanes. Thunder, who came into the game with back-to-back wins, are sixth.
