There was hope that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow would make his long-awaited return for Week 12 against the New England Patriots, but the team will have to wait another week before getting the two-time Pro Bowler back on the field.
That means the Patriots will get to face a struggling Bengals team without Burrow and star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who is currently serving a one-game suspension. All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson has also been ruled out for the game.

Burrow could potentially be ready to return for the Bengals' Week 13 game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving night. He has been dealing with a turf toe injury, and it would make sense for him not to play two games in five days.
The Bengals are sitting at 3-7 and desperate for more wins to get into the playoffs. Burrow clearly wants to do everything in his power to ensure his team at least has a shot.
