Three months of high school football games has whittled down the field to the final 16 teams still in the running for a state championship.

The eight MIAA High School Super Bowl games are spread out over three days at Gillette Stadium: two games on Thursday, Dec. 4, two games on Friday Dec. 5, and four games on Saturday, Dec. 6.

Six of the eight reigning state champions have a chance to make a repeat performance. The only divisions with a guaranteed new state champion are in Division 6 (No. 1 Norwell vs. No. 3 Fairhaven) and Division 7 where No. 1 Cohasset will meet No. 2 Amesbury.

The top seed survived in seven of the eight divisions. The only one to fall was Nashoba Valley Tech in Division 8, where No. 4 Randolph vs. No. 3 West Boylston will play for the state championship.
