While it's certifiably no longer Naruto's story by the time of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the Seventh Hokage still casts a long shadow. Naruto has, at this point for readers, been locked away in Kawaki's Daikokutan for just short of three years. But fans know his unsealing will eventually come, with Naruto potentially serving a huge purpose.
Sealed away in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations chapter #77 alongside his wife, Hinata, Naruto has lost Kurama after his fight with Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. Naruto's immense chakra reserves, and experiences as a jinchūriki may come in handy even without Kurama. While Naruto as a Ten-Tails jinchuriki is still an emerging theory, it's becoming more believable than ever.
Jura Is Drawn to Naruto Which Could Be His Undoing
Jura in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
While Jura has presented himself as a powerful nemesis for the new generation of shinobi in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, even his drive to devour Naruto doesn't come from a nefarious place. He merely wishes to consume the Seventh Hokage because he believes it will help him understand love.
As Naruto fans know well, though, Jura would need only to speak to him for Naruto to communicate his vivid understanding and experiences. But beyond Talk no Jutsu, there's another likely indicator why Jura won't successfully absorb Naruto, beyond simple plot armor.
Naruto Could Turn Boruto's Greatest Villain Into His Next Power-Up
Road of Naruto
While Jura threatens to consume Naruto, Jura is unlike the other Divine Trees, and is a direct incarnation of the Ten-Tails as a consequence of Code's meddling, as confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #14. This means defeating Jura, unlike the others, will not involve freeing a counterpart using his Thorn Soul Bulb. Jura needs to be sealed away.
Naruto, as one of the few surviving members of the Uzumaki clan alongside his children and Karin Uzumaki, is the most fitting candidate around to take in Jura as his jinchuriki. Unlike past instances, with Obito and Madara both serving as jinchuriki before, the concept of a self-aware Ten-Tails could mean a phenomenal power-up for Naruto.
Unlike past instances, with Obito and Madara both serving as jinchuriki before, the concept of a self-aware Ten-Tails could mean a phenomenal power-up for Naruto.
As shown in Two Blue Vortex chapter #11, Jura has shown an affinity for the Nine-Tails and Tailed Beast chakra, namely, meeting Himawari's Biju Bomb with his own in chapter #11, and later channeling that technique into a high-precision sniper shot like in chapter #22. He's not only compatible with Naruto, he'd be utterly fascinating teamed up with him.
None of this is to say it's a sure thing, however. Jura has no reason to cooperate with Naruto, although his pursuit of greater understanding leaves a precedent for Naruto to at least try to appeal to any emotions he may have. As Moegi has proven before, even inherited from Matsuri, the Divine Trees are capable of complex, human sentimentality.
Naruto Is Reasonably Set Up to Become the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki
Six Paths Sage Mode Naruto
Beyond the mere plot convenience, Naruto's lineage already strongly suggests he's the best candidate. His Uzumaki heritage left him with naturally large chakra reserves, but it'd also be a matter of who would seal Jura inside, provided it's even possible. Karin could be of assistance, and Orochimaru even inexplicably knew the Eight Trigrams Sealing Style in Naruto's worst filler arc.
This is also crucially not meant solely to give Naruto a power-up to once again supersede Boruto. He's already incredibly powerful even without Kurama, but this would allow him to nobly take on this burden much like Kushina did when she attempted to put Kurama back in her body during the Nine-Tails Attack flashback.
Such a move would not be outside the ordinary in the Naruto universe, but that's partly up to Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto at this point, especially with Kishimoto indicating that it's mostly Ikemoto's vision nowadays. They have to make it make sense, but arguably, this move already would. It's mostly a matter of how far they see Jura going.
Jura May Not Be the Final Villain in Boruto
Kawaki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations episode #1
As indicated in the original flash-forward from Boruto: Naruto Next Generations chapter #1, Konoha is left in ruins while Naruto is still sealed away. As Jura has taken a liking to Konoha and doesn't wish it to become a battlefield as shown in Two Blue Vortex chapter #27, he's likely not to participate at all, provided he's even still at large at this point.
This is crucial because Jura is an active threat to Naruto, with Kawaki seeing him as a bigger danger thanBoruto, whom he has declared an Ōtsutsuki he must eradicate alongside Code before freeing Naruto and Hinata. It's possible that, before this flash-forward fight, Jura could have been definitively beaten before there was even a chance to seal him inside Naruto.
For now, this is all working with the currently available details. Jura is the first fully humanoid Tailed Beast incarnation, but it's uncertain whether Ikemoto has plans to make Naruto into a vessel to carry him. However, it'd be a worthwhile power-up, and a suitable way to move on from his loss of Kurama.
Naruto Could Have the Chance to Move on From Kurama
Himawari in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex volume 3
The apparent death of Kurama following his last moments with Naruto while using Baryon Mode against Isshiki were a traumatic moment for the Seventh Hokage. It's even visible on his face the tremendous blow to his psyche he felt as Kurama, knowing Naruto wouldn't accept this sacrifice, tricked his human host.
But Kurama has been reincarnated within Himawari, who herself is becoming a similar human Tailed Beast akin to Jura, as opposed to a ninja who happens to host one like a jinchuriki would. He is alive and well, and it'll likely be a powerful reunion should he be able to engage with Naruto again.
Much like Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki before him, Naruto could seal the Ten-Tails chakra within himself, effectively becoming the true modern Sage of Six Paths.
But this opportunity to seal Jura within Naruto could be his chance to become an even more crucial part of the franchise mythos. Much like Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki before him, Naruto could seal the Ten-Tails chakra within himself, effectively becoming the true modern Sage of Six Paths. Given the tomoe slightly visible on Jura's torso, this could have already been foreshadowed.
Bearing the Ten-Tails would be the biggest responsibility Naruto could ever hope to face, and he'd likely not be able to serve as Hokage. While Shikamaru's position as Hokage is currently in a precarious place with scrutiny from the village elders, it'd not be a good move for Naruto to return if he could serve a greater purpose instead.
