EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Coming off a 5-4 loss to Wisconsin on Friday, Michigan State’s hockey suffered another tough loss on Saturday.

Wisconsin scored the first goal of the game halfway through the second period. Blake Montgomery took advantage of the power play and netted his second goal of the series.

Michigan State was on the power play in the final minute of the game, still trailing 1-0, and got on the board thanks to standout freshman Porter Martone. With 40 seconds remaining in regulation, Martone scored his tenth goal of the season to help send the game to overtime.

Wisconsin went on to win the game on a goal by captain Ben Dexheimer, giving the Badgers a sweep in East Lansing.
