Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Middletown High School standout Cris Carter congratulated the Middies' football team on reaching its first-ever state semifinal with a 21-14 win against Wayne in Division I, Region 2.
"Congratulations to my hometown high school, for the first time ever qualifying for the state semifinals @midtownmiddies," Carter tweeted.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMiddletown is scheduled to face St. Xavier in the semifinal, at Dayton's Welcome Stadium on Nov. 28. The Bombers rallied to defeat Elder at Paycor Stadium.
Carter, who starred in football and basketball at Middletown, worked for Fox Sports from 2016 to 2019.
