Burgos is from Santiago, Dominican Republic. He was originally signed by the Seattle Mariners in 2018. According to a quick google search he was not officially ranked as a prospect for the 2024 season. Burgos’ MLB debut came on July 1st against the Royals for Seattle. He gave up a run in 2 innings pitched. He had a couple of scoreless outings against the Yankees and the Tigers. He actually got Aaron Judge to strike out looking in the appearance against the Yankees. His fourth and final game for the Mariners came against the Astros. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. He was optioned to the Tacoma Rainiers the next day.

At the trade deadline, he was dealt along with Hunter Cranton and Tyler Locklear for Eugenio Suarez. His first game for the Dbacks came on August 9th against the Rockies. He had a blown save recorded in that game after walking his first batter and then giving up a 2 run single to Ezequiel Tovar. All told in the month of August, he threw 6 innings in 8 appearances. He gave up 5 runs, 2 HRs and 9 hits in total. He walked5 and struck out 5. He did manage to record 3 holds, though. He had 2 appearances against the Texas Rangers, including the Zac Gallen vs Merrill Kelly game.

Burgos has had to fight through a few injury issues and the general hellscapery of being a young international prospect coming up during the pandemic years. He can get his fastball up to 96 with tail that causes hitters to poke after it and hit it on the ground, and pairs that with a breaking ball that utterly bamboozles A-level hitters thanks to some frisbee-like movement.
