Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker's Force Ghost in Ahsoka season 1
Hayden Christensen's return to Star Wars only makes Ahsoka season 2 more exciting. Ahsoka season 2 is set for release in 2026, continuing the story teased in its predecessor. In Ahsoka season 1's ending, the titular character and Sabine Wren were trapped in Peridea, another Star Wars galaxy, following the trail of Baylan Skoll.
Watched over the two was Anakin Skywalker himself, manifested as one of Star Wars' Force Ghosts. This marked the second Star Wars return in as many years for Hayden Christensen after Obi-Wan Kenobi, offering the actor and his character redemption after being scorned in the prequel trilogy.
In many ways, Christensen's return to Star Wars was exciting. Now, thanks to his role in Ahsoka season 1, Ahsoka season 2 is a lot more exciting.
Anakin's Return In Season 1 Changed Ahsoka Tano

Of course, the continued role Anakin will have in Ahsoka season 2 makes the show obviously exciting. However, it is how his appearance in season 1 changed Ahsoka Tano as a character that makes the second season even more anticipated than it was. Anakin appeared to Ahsoka in Star Wars' World Between Worlds to bring her back from the brink of death, changing her in the process.
There was a subtle yet noticeable shift in Ahsoka's character from that moment on. She was slightly less stoic and dull, becoming a bit happier and renewed with life in the way animated Ahsoka was.
According to Ahsoka star Rosario Dawson in an interview at Comic Con Scotland (reported by SFFGazette), season 2 will continue to explore this:
"I'm liking that she's relaxing, she's kind of getting back into her joy. I think those moments with Hayden [Christensen] and Anakin were so important for her to heal something, so she could be more present. And that's what I'm really enjoying. I think we get to explore that a lot more in the second season."
Evidently, Ahsoka season 2 will show a different version of the titular character. While she may not revert to the childlike character shown in The Clone Wars, given her older age, the moments with Anakin at least allowed Ahsoka to tap back into that. Ahsoka season 2 will seemingly highlight this, making the show more exciting.
Ahsoka Season 2 Will Show A More Traditional Ahsoka Tano

Perhaps the biggest criticism of Ahsoka season 1 was how her character was depicted. Audiences felt she was far too emotionless compared to the Ahsoka that was shown throughout Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Thankfully, Ahsoka season 2 will show a more traditional Ahsoka.
What this exactly means remains to be seen, as this is an Ahsoka from further along in the Star Wars timeline. She is no longer a child like she was in The Clone Wars, nor is she among a group of old friends like she was in Rebels. Still, if Dawson's comments are anything to go by, Anakin Skywalker's return in Ahsoka season 1 greatly impacted Ahsoka going forward.
