Domination is another way to put it, as the Cyclones handled Kansas at home, putting the losing streak firmly in the rearview mirror.

From the jump Iowa State moved the ball easily, especially on the ground. The opening drive resulted in a touchdown powered by Carson Hansen, and the Cyclones would follow that up with another scoring drive. Esklidsen reeled in the first and Hansen the second, making it 14-0.

Kansas would the go on to put together a 52-yard drive, but would be kept off the scoreboard due to a missed field goal. Capitalizing on it, Iowa State would tack on a field goal to take a 17-0 lead into the locker room. It was dominance in the first half, owning yards and time of possession while only punting once.

Fans had to be nervous with the way the second half started, as Kansas easily drove down the field for a score. To start the next drive, the Cyclones faced a 1st and 25, a situation that has doomed this team all season. Rocco threw a dime to Chase Sowell on 3rd and long, and the drive would be capped off with another Esklidsen touchdown.

KU would counter with a quick TD drive, but the dagger counter would come on the next drive. The rushing attack carried the offense again, with Hansen and Sama moving the football before a ballsy 4th down call in the red zone resulted in a Ben Brahmer touchdown pass.

The statistics show an utterly dominant win for the Cyclones. Rocco went 18/23 for 241 and 3 touchdowns. Carson Hansen rushed for 120 averaging 5.5 per carry, and Abu Sama gutted out some tough runs enroute to 57 yards, and Esklidsen reeled in 73 yards and 2 touchdowns.

After all is said and done, Iowa State has a chance to go 8-4, which feels like a huge success all things considered.
