Even on his new contract, Nate Landman isn't close to being one of the highest-paid linebackers in the NFL.

The Los Angeles Rams got a bargain when they signed Nate Landman to a one-year, $1.1 million contract in free agency. He became their starting inside linebacker, a team captain and keeps getting better by the week, making them look like geniuses for taking a chance on him in March.

They rewarded Landman on Saturday with a three-year, $22.5 million extension on Saturday, giving him $15.6 million guaranteed.

Even on his new deal, Landman is a steal. As long as he doesn’t get hurt or regress significantly in the next couple of seasons, his contract is going to age wonderfully for the Rams – a team that has a lot of young players to pay in 2026 and 2027.

According to Over The Cap, Landman’s average salary of $7.5 million per year ranks 25th among all linebackers. That shows just how cheap even his new contract is, making him an excellent value for Los Angeles.

While we haven’t yet seen the structure of the contract or his cap hits, the fact that there’s only $15.6 million guaranteed suggests his cap numbers won’t be very high, and the Rams will likely be able to get out of the contract after two seasons – not that they should want to.
