Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has a hold on the gaming industry that very few RPGs can muster. It stormed onto the scene and immediately enamored RPG fans, leading to its subsequent release on basically every platform possible.With that said, the base game very clearly shows its age, especially now that it has just hit its 15th anniversary. Modders, however, are constantly bringing it up to modern hardware standards, revamping nearly every single aspect of the game, even settlements. Take this Skyrim Ultra Modded graphics suite, shared by the Digital Dreams YouTube channel.
Skyrim Is Still Going Strong

Stunningly, the 8K60 Skyrim "Ultra Modded Graphics" suite includes 3100 mods, and in the sample video, it is running on an RTX 5090 with ray tracing. Skyrim already had a lot of enhancements over its predecessor, Oblivion, but this is something else. It feels like a culmination of 15 years of modding work, and you can see the stark visual upgrades in the video below.
If you're looking to implement this yourself, sadly, the modlist is unavailable. However, an earlier version can be found on the Wunduniik Wiki. This version is based on a 4K60 mod suite for the game, roughly a year ago, and also features 3100+ mods, with raytracing. While modding can be overwhelming at times, grabbing a full suite that's compatible with your version of the game can be one of the easiest ways to jump into the fray.
The Elder Scrolls 6 Is A Ways Off Yet

In an era where publishers are announcing games way too early, Bethesda technically revealed The Elder Scrolls 6 back in 2018, and we've been waiting for it ever since. While most fans reasonably expected some gameplay reveals by now, Todd Howard remains stalwart in reminding us that it's not coming out anytime soon. All we really know right now is that the game is in active development and is in an "early build playable state."
At this point, I've blocked The Elder Scrolls 6 out of my mind completely. For now, Skyrim and its myriad mods are tangible things that we can enjoy until Bethesda decides that the time is right.
