Tim Allen reveals that he has wrapped his work on Toy Story 5. He is reprising his voice role as Buzz Lightyear in the upcoming sequel, which is scheduled to release in theaters on June 19, 2026. Allen first voiced the character in the original Toy Story movie, released in 1995, and has voiced him, in the sequel films as well.

Now, Allen has confirmed that he wrapped work for Toy Story 5 as of November 21. He also shares that working on this movie "really affected" him, expresses his love for the creators and story, and that he is "blessed to be in this wonderful space suit for so many years." Check out his post below:

Along with the main Buzz Lightyear that fans know and love, Allen is also voicing an army of the malfunctioning space ranger toys, who wash ashore on an island during the sequel's opening scene. Director Andrew Stanton refers to this army as "the Multi-Buzz" in a new look at Toy Story 5.

In addition to Allen, Tom Hanks returns to voice Woody. Despite their emotional farewell at the end of the fourth movie, Woody is back with the other toys as seen in Toy Story 5's trailer. Their lives are upended when Bonnie gets a frog tablet named Lilypad (voiced by Past Lives star Greta Lee), with technology versus toys being the central conflict of the film.

The trailer also shows that other beloved characters are returning alongside Woody and Buzz, including Rex, Slinky Dog, Forky, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Jessie, Bullseye, and the Pizza Planet aliens, all of whom are terrified by the arrival of Lilypad.

While they don't appear in the trailer, Toy Story 5's cast also includes Ernie Hudson as Combat Carl, taking over the role after Carl Weathers' passing, and Conan O'Brien, who plays a new character named Smarty Pants.

Any other details about the movie's plot have been scarce, but Allen did give a previous Toy Story 5 tease that "Jessie’s got a big trouble, she needs help, so it’s a really cool thing." Jessie was first introduced in Toy Story 2 and has gone on to have a romantic relationship with Buzz, which the sequel will likely build on as she navigates the "big trouble" she encounters this time around.

More to come...
