Hansi Flick provides Alejandro Balde injury update after Barcelona 4-0 Athletic Club

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of defensive star Alejandro Balde.

This comes after the left-back was forced into a premature departure from the Blaugrana’s latest outing.

On Barca’s Spotify Camp Nou return, Balde was hooked from proceedings with just 45 minutes on the clock, after earlier going to ground with a head injury.

Speaking to the media post-match, Hansi Flick was therefore asked for the latest on the Spaniard’s wellbeing.

And the German tactician went on to explain:

“Balde is fine. We were just cautious with him in the second half.”

Balde’s knock marked the only real concern of what was an otherwise stellar day’s work for Barcelona on Saturday.

Owing to goals on the part of all of Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres (2) and Fermín López, the Catalans made short work of Athletic Club, to join arch rivals Real Madrid back atop the La Liga table.
