Palace were the more dangerous side throughout but didn't break through until the second half through Daniel Munoz's sharp finish and a stunner from Jeremy Pino.

Palace have to be more clinical
The next step for Crystal Palace to really push for Champions League qualification (and they can do it) is to be more clinical. They had huge chances in this game with Mateta guilty of missing one, while they whipped dangerous crosses into the box but players weren't gambling on finishing. Oliver Glasner knows his side are giving their all and he's pushing the squad to its limits with Conference League and Premier League action coming thick and fast. Palace sit fourth in the table after this win and they could be even higher had they taking more of their chances this season.
What’s next?
Wolves travel to Aston Villa next Sunday for a huge game against local rivals. Palace head to Strasbourg in the Conference League on Thursday, then host Man United on Sunday.
Wolves vs Crystal Palace score: 0-2
Munoz 63', Pino 69'
Jeremy Pino smashes home a beauty!
Wolves can't clear properly through the sub Hwang Hee-chan and the ball drops to Pino, who smashes it into the far corner. What a hit. Palace cruising now.

A corner is worked short and eventually Palace find Wharton on the edge of the box. His shot takes a massive deflection straight to Daniel Munoz who fires home. Rob Edwards can't believe it. But VAR is checking the goal for a possible offside... but the goal stands. 1-0 to Palace.
Sarr smashes way over
After Wolves have seen plenty of the ball, Palace go direct and Pino's cross from the left finds Sarr. He smashes it over the bar. Really good chance for Palace.
Wolfe’s shot deflects wide
The home side have started the second half well as Wolfe has a shot blocked well by Guehi, then from the resulting corner Munetsi prods a shot over from six yards out.

Daniel Munoz whips in a lovely cross which is begging to be finished from a few yards out, but the ball goes all the way to the back post and no Palace player gambled to get on the end of it. Munoz and Oliver Glasner can't believe it.
Great save by Henderson, then Krejci puts it over
A low free kick from Wolves takes a deflection and is surely going in. But Dean Henderson, who was going the other way, sticks out a leg to save. The rebound comes quickly at Krejci who is crashing in and he puts it over the bar.
Johnstone denies Kamada
Palace putting Wolves under a lot of pressure and Kamada's low shot at the back post is pushed wide by Johnstone.

That is a huge chance and Mateta usually finishes those. He is clean through but the ball squirms just wide.
Wolves lineup
Johnstone; Agbadou, Krejci, Toti; Tchatchoua, Andre, J. Gomes, Wolfe; Munetsi, Arokodare; Strand Larsen
Crystal Palace lineup
Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Kamada, Mitchell; Sarr, Pino; Mateta
Wolves team news, focus
Rodrigo Gomes and Matt Doherty are out injured, which is a big blow for Wolves. It will be intriguing to see if Edwards sticks with the back three or goes to a back four. As we saw from Edwards' time in charge of Luton Town in the Premier League two years ago, he loves to play chaotic, direct football and we should expect plenty of crosses into the box for Jorgen Strand Larsen and Hwang Hee-chan to try and finish off.

There are a couple of injury concerns for Palace with Eddie Nketiah and Marc Guehi both battling to be fit. Jean-Philippe Mateta continues to be the main man in attack and he scored again for France during the international break. We all know exactly what we are going to get from Palace and they are so disciplined and know their roles so well.
Wolves vs Crystal Palace preview
Edwards played for Wolves and has held several coaching roles at the club and decided to leave Middlesbrough, who he had pushing for automatic promotion from the Championship, to try and save the Molineux club from Premier League relegation. Wolves lost 3-0 at Chelsea before the break and have drawn two and lost nine of their 11 games so far this season. They are eight points from safety but Edwards knows he has some talented attackers and if he can improve things defensively, Wolves will pick up points. But they have to start doing it very soon and Edwards has some easier home fixtures in his first few weeks in charge that he has to take advantage of.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementPalace are looking like a slightly easier team to play against at the moment as Oliver Glasner's side have only won one of their last five Premier League games. They drew 0-0 at home to rivals Brighton before the break and their relatively small squad has been stretched to its limits with the Europa Conference League games also coming thick and fast.
Wolves vs Crystal Palace prediction
This feels like it will be a draw, which is a step in the right direction for Wolves but it may feel like a missed opportunity as now seems like a good time to play Palace. Wolves 1-1 Crystal Palace.
