Each year for the past few seasons, the Christmas Day games have been taken over by Netflix, as they have had the opportunity to really expand the game slate on that day and make some truly impressive broadcasts. In 2025, they will have two games, one at 1 P.M. Eastern Time and the other at 4:30 P.M. These two games each have individual broadcast teams comprised of former players, coaches, analysts and more.
While the early game will not have any ties back to the New Orleans Saints, the second game, between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions, will have a whopping three former Saints on the broadcast. This includes former linebacker Manti Te'o, former wide receiver Brandon Marshall, and, of course, franchise legend Drew Brees. The former two of the group will be desk analysts according to the broadcast sheet, while Brees will be marked down as a game analyst.
With Brees getting some of his first reps recently as a commentator, it is fitting to give him another enhanced role on Christmas on one of the biggest platforms out there. In addition, Te'o and Marshall both bring a vast wealth of knowledge from playing for a combined 15 seasons, which should help improve the broadcast even further. Funny enough, all three of these players were on the same roster in 2018 as well, so getting them all to speak to each other for a small segment would be quite fun.
