UTEP and New Mexico State meet for the 102nd time — and last for at least a year or two — when they square off in the Sun Bowl in desperate need of a victory to salvage something of the season.
The Miners come in on a three-game losing streak, but can match their three-win total of last year with a victory against an Aggies team that has lost five consecutive games.

Picks and Parleys: New Mexico State to win, over
Cameron Ross writes: "Both teams have had a ton of trouble this season, as each comes into this game well below .500. New Mexico State is on a long losing streak, but they are the better team in this matchup. New Mexico State will use its edge on both sides of the ball against a lackluster UTEP team Saturday. Look for the Aggies to keep things close start to finish Saturday as they pull off the win and cover on the road as the underdog against UTEP.."

Pick Dawgs: UTEP to cover
Randy Chambers writes: I’m not excited to get involved in this game as these are two bottom feeding teams that aren’t winning, don’t cover numbers, and are awful on both sides of the ball. With that said, somebody has to win. I’ll lean UTEP, as it’s at home and it’s senior day for 33 seniors. New Mexico State hasn’t won a game on the road this season, and the Aggies have possibly the worst offense in the country. UTEP is 3-1 SU and ATS in its last 4 games as a favorite. We’re laying a field goal. There’s far and away better options out there, but if forced to pick, I’m rolling with the home team and the soft line."
Bleacher Nation: Bet UTEP to win on the money line, over
It writes: "Our prediction for UTEP vs. New Mexico State sees the Miners (-166 on the moneyline) as the pick to win. As for the total, we pick the over at 45.5 points."
