It is going to be an emotional afternoon for Notre Dame football players, but especially for the seniors as they’ll strap on their helmets one last time in Notre Dame Stadium as it faces the Syracuse Orange.
The game shouldn’t be much of a contest, the Irish should win this one fairly easily, so the focus will be on the departing players, ones that made huge impacts to this team.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThere are a total of 33 players that will be honored this afternoon, some like Tyler Buchner, Gabriel Rubio, and Junior Tuihalamaka have given it their all.
Other’s are very interesting cases, as offensive tackle Aamil Wagner and running back Jadarian Price both have eligibility left, but are listed as being honored later today. Both of them have been with the program for four years, and this could just be signally that they’ve gotten their degrees. Or it could be that their time in South Bend is ending.
Hard to say right now, but it will be interesting to see if Marcus Freeman is asked about this in the postgame.
