Who had the best TSSAA football playoffs performances from the Nashville area on Nov. 21?
Each week, we’ll rank the top five Nashville area individual performances and team wins based on statistics, quality of opponents and how wins factor into the Tennessee high school football playoffs.

1. Larry Sanders, Brentwood Academy: Sanders had 27 carries for 205 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-7 win over CPA in the DII-AAA semifinals.

2. Jared Curtis, Nashville Christian: Curtis was 15-of-23 passing for 198 yards with three touchdowns and an interception and had 10 carries for 86 yards and a TD in a 41-7 win over Trinity Christian in the DII-A semifinals.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement3. Donte Cameron, Oakland: Cameron had 16 carries for 157 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-17 comeback win over Green Hill.
4. Mike Hassell, FRA: Hassell rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-21 win over Lausanne in the DII-AA semifinals.
5. Stephen Saulter: Saulter caught six passes for 109 yards and a TD in Pearl-Cohn’s 33-7 win over Marshall County in the Class 4A state quarterfinals.
Top TSSAA football playoffs team performances ranked
1. Blackman: While some were penciling in an Oakland-Maryville Class 6A semifinal matchup, Blackman was preparing for something else. The Blaze (12-1) knocked off No. 1 seed Maryville (11-2) in convincing fashion, 31-7.

Centennial: Centennial’s 45-24 win over No. 1 seed Henry County (8-4) in the Class 5A state quarterfinals has the Cougars (7-5) one victory away from the school’s first state championship game appearance. That’s in spite of former coach Jay Graham being arrested and fired in October.
3. Franklin Road Academy: The Panthers (11-1) will play for the DII-AA state championship against — its first football title game appearance since 1991 — after a 49-21 over Lausanne (8-4). That’s a mile marker for the program.
4. Battle Ground Academy: The Wildcats (12-1) won 49-3 over Boyd-Buchanan (11-1) and 17-time state championship coach Gary Rankin to reach the DII-AA state finals. BGA proved it’s a physical team.
5. Brentwood Academy: BA went 2-10 just two years ago but the slide didn’t last long. The Eagles (12-0) are back in the DII-AAA state final for the first time since 2018 after a 38-7 win over CPA.
