Michigan State hockey's nine game winning streak is no more, with the Spartans dropping the opening matchup of a weekend series against Wisconsin. The Badgers took down the Spartans, 5-4, inside of Munn Ice Arena.
The Spartans, coming into the contest 9-1 (4-0 B1G), suffered their first loss since the season opener against New Hampshire and their first Big Ten loss of the season.

Porter Martone scored twice for the Spartans, while Ryker Lee and Daniel Russell also added markers in the game. Trey Augustine was in net for the Spartans, making 29 saves.
The two teams will play the series finale tomorrow night at 7 p.m. inside of Munn.
