Samsung has given official confirmation the Exynos 2600 processor is coming soon, and even if you’re not a fan of Samsung’s own chips, this one promises to not only be special, but also highly important for the brand.

Video teaser

Samsung posted a short teaser video to YouTube, filled with the usual portentous music and flashy visuals that manage to make a tiny square chip look futuristic and exciting.

The video starts off with a key phrase, saying “In silence, we listened” indicating the company has been paying attention to the complaints about its own processors, especially when compared to Qualcomm’s equivalent Snapdragon range.

At the time of writing, the top comment on the video with 350 likes says, “Please don’t disappoint this time,” likely echoing the sentiment of many Samsung fans around the world.

The Exynos 2600 is expected to be the first built using Samsung’s 2nm process, and according to early data, will provide modest performance and efficiency improvements over previous versions.

Why it’s important

The Exynos 2600 processor is all set to be one of the most important new components the company has launched, as it’s increasingly likely the upcoming Galaxy S26 series will feature the chip, depending on where you live in the world.

Aside from the Galaxy S26 Ultra, other globally released Galaxy S26 phones will apparently use the Exynos 2600. In the U.S., the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will power all the Galaxy S26 phones, according to recent reports.

Samsung’s flagship phone range sets the tone for the brand, and the wider industry to some extent, for the coming year. It’s imperative any hardware and feature advancements are not overshadowed by a poor-performing Exynos processor.

When will it launch?

The teaser does not provide a launch date for the Exynos 2600. However, Samsung has also announced a press conference at CES 2026, the technology trade show which will take place in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2026.

Titled “The First Look,” the press conference will be held on January 4, and is set to concentrate on Samsung’s device experience and AI plans for the year. Some of the on-stage announcements will apply to the Galaxy S26 series.

It’s possible the Exynos 2600 will be announced during the event. If not, Samsung may choose to launch the chip by press release ahead of the Galaxy S26’s reveal, currently expected in January or February 2026.

Either way, there’s a lot riding on the Exynos 2600’s success, and if Samsung has truly been listening to device owners, then it fully understands the seriousness of the situation. We’ll find out soon if it has been able to produce a winning chip for its next flagship phones.
