Cardinals injury report: Marvin Harrison sits out Wednesday practice

The Arizona Cardinals opened their practice week Wednesday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams and released their first injury report of Week 14.

The bad news is that wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. did not practice because of a heel injury. The good news is running back Emari Demercado returned to the field.

All told, the Cardinals had eight players not practicing, including running back Trey Benson, who is on injured reserve.

Defensive lineman L.J. Collier, who has been on IR since the cut to 53 players, had his 21-day practice window opened Wednesday.

Things are not trending well for Benson. His 21-day practice window closes next week, and after beginning with four limited practices, he hasn’t been able to practice for three consecutive days dating back to last week.

After missing two games after an appendectomy, Harrison played last week, but suffered a heel injury in the game against the Buccaneers. Dortch is a new addition to the report.

• T Christian Jones (knee/practicing while on IR)

Demercado was injured early in the Week 11 game against the 49ers and missed the previous two games. He did not practice in all six practices the last two weeks, so the upgrade to limited is promising.
