Michigan State came off of a Champions Classic domination of Kentucky to hosting in-state Detroit Mercy inside of the Breslin Center. The Spartans looked to improve to 5-0 on the season.
The Spartans took care of their business, dominating the Titans and earning a 84-56 victory.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementLeading the way for the Spartans was Jeremy Fears Jr., who secured another double-double, scoring 18 points and adding 11 assists. Adding to the scoring, getting in double figures, Jaxon Kohler (13 points), Coen Carr (13 points) and Carson Cooper (12 points) all had solid performances.
It is also worth noting that Nick Sanders got into the game and hit a three for the Spartans, to an obvious loud crowd reaction.
Michigan State will be back in action on Tuesday, when they travel to Fort Myers (FL) for Fort Myers Tip-Off (Beach Division) against East Carolina.
