The Green Bay Packers were aggressive in adding to their roster this offseason, spending money in free agency and acquiring Micah Parsons in a trade. One of the signings the Packers made was offensive guard Aaron Banks, who signed a four-year, $77 million deal.

Banks came over from the San Francisco 49ers and immediately became Green Bay's starter at left guard. However, Banks struggled early in the season, and it looked like a failure of a free agency addition.

In recent weeks, Banks has stepped up and is playing at a high level for the Packers' offensive line. “I think he’s really kind of turned a corner," head coach Matt LaFleur said.

The 28-year-old's improvement is a great sign for the Packers' offensive line. Green Bay lost center Elgton Jenkins for the season due to injury, which puts more pressure on the rest of the offensive line to perform.

The Packers' offense will need to be consistent down the stretch. They had their best performance on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions.

LaFleur's playcalling was more aggressive, as he allowed quarterback Jordan Love to throw the ball more, particularly on early downs. In the game, Love completed 18 of 30 passes for 234 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Green Bay also did not allow a sack in the game, proving that Banks and the offensive line did a great job protecting Love.

The offense will soon be at full strength as wide receivers Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden are close to a return. The Packers also opened up the 21-day window on running back MarShawn Lloyd.

Green Bay has the talent to be one of the best offenses in the league, and with the offensive line playing better of late, including Banks, they could be elite as they make their playoff push.

The Packers have their most important stretch of the season coming up, starting with a matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The winner of the game will take first place in the NFC North.

Green Bay will need a great performance from Banks and the offensive line, as Chicago has a talented defense.
