Legendary Spartan RB exited about Pat Fitzgerald at Michigan State

Everyone in and around the Michigan State football program is ecstatic over the decision to hire Pat Fitzgerald as the school's new head coach.

While the students, alumni and fan base might be as exited as can be, the most excited portion of the program might be the former Spartan players. All over social media, on podcasts and more, the former Spartan players have had nothing but good things to say about Fitzgerald.

In attendance to Fitzgerald's introductory podcast, and speaking to the media afterwards, Spartan legend Javon Ringer talked about the new head coach. Needless to say, he is absolutely pumped about the new hire.

Ringer talked about:

• Dominating at the line of scrimmage and why that is needed at Michigan State

• Energy Fitzgerald will bring to the program, his similarities to Mark Dantonio

• Why a change was needed

• What former players think about the hire

Ringer was an instrumental part in building the foundation of what Mark Dantonio's Michigan State would become, and was a part of the early battles that Fitzgerald and Dantonio would have.
