The Toronto Blue Jays certainly are aiming high this offseason.
Toronto handed out a massive $210 million deal to starting pitcher Dylan Cease. A deal like that would slow some teams down. Now the Blue Jays, though. FanSided Major League Baseball insider Robert Murray reported that four-time All-Star Kyle Tucker was spotted visiting the Blue Jays' facility in Dunedin, Florida, on Wednesday.
"Free-agent outfielder Kyle Tucker was spotted at the Toronto Blue Jays’ facility in Dunedin, Fla. on Wednesday, according to sources familiar with the situation," Murray wrote on Wednesday. "The Blue Jays have been one of the most active teams this offseason, already signing Dylan Cease to a seven-year, $210 million contract and right-hander Cody Ponce to a three-year, $30 million contract. And now they are doing their due diligence by bringing in Tucker, the superstar free-agent outfielder, in for a visit.
..."Tucker, 28, was the No. 5 overall pick by the Astros in 2015 and has been an impact player since debuting in 2019. In seven seasons in Houston, the left-handed slugger hit .274/.353/.516 with 125 home runs and 417 RBI. He was traded to the Chicago Cubs in Dec. 2024 in exchange for infielder Isaac Paredes, right-hander Hayden Wesneski, and outfielder Cam Smith."
ESPN insider Jeff Passan labeled the Blue Jays as the "favorite" to sign Tucker on Nov. 18. Clearly, there's smoke behind these rumors, as shown through Murray's report.
Tucker played in 136 games for the Chicago Cubs in 2025 and slashed .266/.377/.464 with 22 homers, 73 RBIs, 25 stolen bases, and 25 doubles. The 28-year-old is the top available free agent. Keep an eye on Toronto.
