But on Wednesday night, everything changed when the Milwaukee Bucks superstar went down with a non-contact injury.

On the same day that ESPN's Shams Charania reported Antetokounmpo would be discussing his future with the Bucks leadership, Giannis didn't make it out of the first quarter.

It didn't look good. The Bucks have initially termed it a right calf strain.

Thoughts immediately turn to hoping that Giannis is OK. His basketball superstardom and tremendous personality have earned him many fans across the NBA. No one wants to see this.

In the bigger picture, this also has the possibility of changing everything for Milwaukee.

If the injury is as bad as it first appears, the Bucks wouldn't be able to trade Antetokounmpo this season even if they wanted to. Their current season would likely go down the drain, and the future would become even murkier than it already is.

Giannis is the superhero who led the Bucks to their first championship in 50 years and did it by dropping 50 points in Game 7 in 2021.

As the trade rumors began to swirl, the future of the Bucks' organization was in doubt. And now it looks like everything about Antetokounmpo's career has added a layer of doubt that didn't exist just hours earlier on Wednesday.
